Septic Systems

Ryan's Excavating is licensed by the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department to engage in installation, alteration, and repair of all types of septic systems; chambers, drainfields, drywells and privies. We have over eight years of experience installing septic systems in the state of Michigan for various other contractors and for ourselves. We have installed or been a part of installations in six different counties from Iron River to as far South as Grand Rapids, allowing us to work under various building codes with different building materials and construction methods which gives us an edge when it comes to designing and installing the best septic system for your dollar.

Sewer Lines

Our sewer services also include the installation of new PVC sanitary sewer lines from four inch to six inch, eight inch and beyond. We can also repair or replace your current sewer line be it concrete, clay, PVC, cast iron or wood.

Ryan has been installing sanitary sewer lines and sanitary sewer mains all over Michigan in many different conditions and in many different sizes. Duringthe winter of 2001 he was a part of a new sewer system installation around Long Lake in Belding, Michigan comprising of six, eight and ten inch gravity sewer and two inch to four inch force main sewer at depths ranging from four to fourteen feet below the water table. In 1999 and 2000 He was a part of a project to install over five miles of various size gravity sewer line and ductile iron force main from Phelps Collins Regional Air Field to the City of Alpena. The pipe line went though swamps, sand, shale, and rock above and below the water table. The project also called for the installation of four sanitary sewer lift stations to be constructed at depths between sixteen and thirty-four feet which Ryan was also a part of.

Water Lines

Ryan's Excavating and its employees specialize in underground utility installation and repair. We offer a full range of services to suit all of your water service needs. We can install new copper or plastic water services from the city or townships valve to your home or business from three quarter inch diameter to two inch diameter pipe. We drill or tunnel the foundation or floor of your building to bring in the new pipe and connect your new water service to your building's existing plumbing. All work performed by Ryan's Excvating meets or exceedes building codes and accepted construction standards.

Water Mains

Ryan's Excavating's underground water services do not stop when the pipes get bigger. We have an extensive background installing and repairing municipal water systems. We have acquired our experiance constructing miles of ductile iron water mains from four to twenty-four inches in diameter, C900 PVC Water mains from six to twelve inchesin diameter, fire hydrants, pressure relief valves, and meter pits. We also performlive taps on various sizes of ductile iron and PVC water main, remove or replace damagedfire hydrants, remove or replace broken water valves and repair broken water mains.

Building Site Preparation

From start to finish Ryan's Excavating can take care of all your building site earth moving needs. We provide land clearing services, stump pulling and disposal, standard and walk-out basement excavation, drain tile installation, water lines, septic systems, road or driveway construction, garage or pole barn slab preparation, drainage grading and landscaping. We can help you design your lot to get the best water run off to help keep your basement dry, and we can even recommend trusted and reliable contractors for concrete and carpentry work.

Driveways

Let us repair or replace your worn out driveway or build your new home or business's first one. We can work with you to design a driveway that will fit into your budget and hold up to the trafic demands and stress that are placed on it. We offer a variety of finishes including crushed gravel, smooth finished concrete, broom finished concrete, asphalt and brick pavers. We can do a simple resurface where we would remove the old damaged black top or concrete and replace it after some fine grading of the existing subgrade. Ryan's can also do a comlpete reconstruct where, in addition to the blacktop or concrete, all questionable material beneath is removed and replaced with a uniform layer of sand to provide an extremely durable driveway that will last through our destructive Western UP freeze and thaw cycles.

Parking Lots

Ryan's Excavating offers complete parking lot construction and repair services. We can revamp your old lot or build you a brand new parking area. Just as with our driveways we can build a parking lot to suit your individual needs and budget with a variety of different surface finishes and sub surface modifications. We will see your project through from removal and disposal of the existing surface material and unsound sub grade, to hauling in stable fill material, installing or replacing any necessary drainage structures or piping, rough grading, finish grading and resurfacing. We take pride in building durable parking lots that will last for years to come.

Snow Plowing/Removal

We offer a full array of commercial and residental winter snow removal services to Iron River, Crystal Falls, Gaastra, Caspian, Alpha and the surrounding areas. Our services include plowing driveways, parking lots, camp or woods roads and job sites. We can also shovel and salt sidewalks, porches, patios, steps and decks. Our services can be contracted for the entire season, when called or just that one time to get things opened back up. Billing can be set up weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly for some customers and charges can be set up on an hourly or a per occurence basis at your discretion.
